The Product Analyst (SEO) is a member of the Analytics Team, providing data-driven insights to support planning, tactical execution, and an optimized customer experience. Reporting into Product Management, the analyst partners with UX, Engineering, and Marketing teams to deliver SEO analytics, design A/B testing programs, and build the dashboards and reporting that guide digital decision-making at a leading national retailer.
What You Will Do
- Support Product Management, SEO, and Technology teams in identifying opportunities to increase site conversion with a focus on SEO.
- Identify technical SEO opportunities and provide data-backed recommendations.
- Stay up to date on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and competitor performance.
- Build and maintain SEO dashboards in Tableau, Adobe Analytics, and/or Looker, combining various data sources to create a singular, accurate reporting view.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand holistic SERP performance, develop forecasts, and make recommendations based on insights.
- Design experiments, validate test data, conduct analysis, and report results to measure the impact of SEO enhancements on traffic and conversion.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define reporting requirements for new site functionality and assist in creating specifications for analytics code implementation.
- Produce ad hoc analysis to surface opportunities that enhance the product roadmap, presenting clear and actionable insights to digital leadership and stakeholders.
- Support and train internal users on digital analytics tools and platforms.
- Foster a culture of curiosity and data literacy across the organization.
Experience and Skills Required
- 5+ years of direct experience in digital analytics or digital marketing with a focus on SEO.
- Experience answering complex business questions connecting search engine query to sale; preference for large-retailer background.
- Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEOClarity, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, or similar platforms.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in writing and troubleshooting SQL/GBQ queries.
- Strong ability to build and maintain dashboards in Tableau, Adobe Analytics, and/or Looker.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw actionable insights from complex data.
- Strong communication skills: able to translate technical findings into concise recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of HTML, website design, and web analytics fundamentals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet quality deliverables on time.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a dynamic environment.
