Director, eCommerce & Online Retailers - CPG Company
Providence, RI area (hybrid in-office 1-3 days a week)
We are seeking a driven, growth-oriented and data savvy person to lead our ecommerce initiatives with hands-on experience as a marketplace seller utilizing the latest ecommerce optimization and reporting solutions. In this role you’re charged with developing and executing an online sales and marketing strategy across Direct to Consumer, Amazon and Walmart.com, that delivers against an aggressive growth agenda, while closely partnering with a cross-functional team (Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing).
As a small company with the majority of revenue concentrated online, this role offers a unique, career-building opportunity to play a pivotal role in the overall growth of the company. The successful candidate will be able to directly influence every aspect of how we go to market online, from content, promotion and advertising, to product configuration, packaging, and logistics.
The role will have direct supervision of the director of online accounts and marketplaces, an ecommerce analyst, and ecommerce specialist agencies.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and refine eCommerce strategy (spanning Amazon and Walmart.com marketplaces, and DTC), including 2024 business plan to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Identify product family and item level tactical plans, including pricing, merchandising, promotion, and advertising, that grow the overall business while adhering to profit targets
- Own and be accountable forecast management and delivery, including ecommerce budget and spending
- Manage new product set-up and launches
- Develop in depth understanding of competitors and the overall category to identify growth opportunities via product, packaging or pricing/promo innovation
- Partner closely with marketing to optimize all content types for traffic and conversion, following brand guidelines, with opportunity to influence overall brand messaging and positioning
- Play a strong leadership role in levelling up overall organizational ecommerce capabilities and efficiencies with both internal and external (agencies, technology partners, seller partners, and consultants) business partners

Preferred Qualifications
- Years of Experience: 8+ years’ experience in eCommerce, CPG OTC experience a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience managing direct reports and agencies
- Direct, hands-on-keys experience working as an Amazon Marketplace seller, including an operational understanding of Seller Central
- Experience with Amazon merchandising, search and display advertising
- Direct experience managing Direct to Consumer storefronts
- Strong track record generating profitable growth via eCommerce, preferably with CPG brands
- Demonstrated analytical skills and understanding of ecommerce and retail KPI’s
- Proven ability to draw conclusions and take action based on data
- Natural communicator with exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- High proficiency in Excel
- Certifications in Google, Facebook or Amazon encouraged
